Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as reporter for WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was an anchor in the morning and a reporter for WCBD TV. Her reporting of the ineffective responses of police officers towards DUI cases in Charleston caused an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell then worked for NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as a investigative reporter and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. The present role of O'Dell as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She has covered major events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals to The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
